What is a modal wheel?

  • A modal wheel is a type of accidental network consisting of singular jumps and simultanous scales… unlike a modal ring which consists of a singular scale and simultanous jumps.  Every scale is connected and diatonic in a modal wheel; this is known as a super-diatonic configuration.
